About McKenna
I am a student at Brigham Young University studying secondary English Teaching (grades 6-12). I am familiar with tutoring and have even homeschooled others' kids for 6 months. I have tutored on and off since I was in high school (about 6-7 years experience). I have taught kids as young as first grade and middle-aged adults. I also have experience working with kids struggling with mental and emotional disorders, as well as learning disabilities.

My teaching method begins by starting where the student is and moving forward. I am interested in challenging each student and helping them improve their reading and writing skills in a fun way. If we are not making headway, I try to approach the material differently or seek to understand how and why they are making the mistakes they are making, and then adjusting my teaching accordingly.

Perfect! She works excellent with my son and I was extremely impressed with her ability to adapt and be flexible with my son specific needs. She's very calm and patience and extremely helpful. She engages with my son much better than I do with homework and has just been an overall lifesaver!
