About Harry
Tutoring is an outlet for the more ‘creative’ side of teaching for me - there is a lot more freedom in a lesson between one teacher and student to tailor discussions and tasks to that individual’s need and to be more experimental in the process. It is a welcome and freeing break from a classroom of 30!

I am a UK-based English teacher of nine years with eleven years experience of private tuition in English and Maths in addition. I have a BA in English and an MA in Educational Sociology and I am currently pursuing my PhD part-time alongside my teaching career.
I teach with a mindful balance of recognising that there is core knowledge it is essential to impart to learners and an enjoyment of discursive and enquiry based learning once those fundamental principles have been made clear. I will make sure that you leave a lesson having learned something measurable and usable, but also engaged in the exploratory and challenging discussions around this information that make learning and studying so fascinating!
