I am passionate about sharing everything that is inspiring and complex about English literature. I believe that strong literacy and critical thinking skills are an essential foundation for success and that learning should be fun, challenging and stimulating. I encourage students to ask questions, interrogate the materials they study and constantly strive to grow.

After attaining a Master of Arts in English Literature and History, a Master of Science by Research in 20th century fantasy literature, I decided to pursue my teaching career through a PGDE at Edinburgh University. I now have experience in teaching the Scottish English, Literacy and ESOL curricula from S1 to S6 (12-18), including SQA National 4, 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. I believe in a dialogic pedagogy, which models curiosity and learning through co-constructing knowledge; consolidation of knowledge and understanding through practice questions and modelling which supports the development of analytical and evaluative skills. Lessons in 1 hour slots.
