About Sammy-Jo
Having been a Teacher of English for the past five years, I have had the opportunity to share my passion for this subject with students of various ages. Whether it’s performing Shakespeare, writing creatively or reading classic poetry, my aim is always to inspire a love of literature and a fascination with language in all my students, and to assist them in building skills to be used both within the classroom and beyond.
During my time as a teacher, I have also been a 1:1 tutor and have helped my tutees reach and, in some cases, exceed their target grades, with some tutees surpassing their targets by three grades.
So, if you need help with English, be it reading, writing, close word analysis, comparison or getting to grips with key texts, contact me and I will guide you through this subject at a pace and in a way suitable to you.

Therefore, I make it a priority to learn how each tutee learns best and plan all sessions accordingly. Whether you prefer plenty of modelling to demonstrate challenging concepts, careful questioning to elicit new understandings, the Socratic method or a combination of different approaches, each session will be tailored to you.
