About Davide
Davide Da Pieve (La Spezia, 1986) historian and art critic, deals with the study of contemporary art paying attention to the relationship between artistic practice and exhibition space. He co-edited the proceedings of the international conference "The experience of space: collections, exhibitions, museums" (Bononia University Press, 2020). He co-edited the book "Roberto Daolio. Aggregates for differences" (Postmediabooks 2017).
He has participated in international conferences, conferences, seminars and talks, including: Portafortuna. A space for research, production and experimentation: non-profit and institutions (Manifattura Tabacchi, Florence, 2020); give_SPACE. Meeting with the protagonists of independent exhibition spaces in Bologna (Forum co-curated, University of Bologna, 2019), About Artist run and project space (Le Houloc, Paris, 2019); Independent practices - The influence of the Genius Loci (Nesxt Festival, Turin, 2019); Ù: from analog Blog to uninstallation (MAMbo, Bologna, 2018, as part of Live Arts Week VII); Space as a producer of exhibition formats (University of Bologna, 2018).
He has produced critical texts and edited (or co-curated) exhibitions by Filippo Cecconi, Filippo Tappi, Maarten Van Roy, Paolo Bufalini, Paul Barsch and Tilman Hornig, Simone Tacconelli, Sathyan Rizzo, Flavio Pacino, Irene Adorni, Alvaro Chior, Sara Lorusso and Guido Segni. In 2018 he founded the Metoché Cultural Association with which he deals with audio-video projects and experimental events in which Italian and international artists have been involved, including: Tabita Rezaire, Lorenzo Oggiano, Stine Deja, Bob Bicknell-Knight, Momu & No Es, Clusterduck, Olia Svetlanova, Karol Sudolski, Kim Laughton, Rustan Söderling, Stefano De Ponti, Alberto Novello.
