About Melanie
I've seen many intelligent and hardworking people be let down- and let themselves down- by a lack of critical thinking skills.
My higher education was based around critical analysis to try and determine why the worst things that happen in the world happen, but never getting any solid answers or being able to act on the findings that were made. Conversely, my professional life has consistently found me in positions where I've had the responsibility to prevent or fix problems, even if the stakes haven't been as high. These 2 different but complementary experiences have given me the skillset and ambition to teach critical thinking to students of a wide range of disciplines so they have the tools to make the right decisions no matter how high the stakes.

We'll find the points in your notes and research that are open to analysis and take your grades up a level.
I ask students to share their notes and assignments with me 2 days before our class. I will then identify opportunities to hit criteria from the course's assessment guidelines from the content you've sent me along with some additional research. I'll then lead you find those opportunities for yourself during our class.
I can also develop demo excercises for you to work on in your free time to improve your own abilities in the long-term.
