About Sacha

- What kind of experience do you have? I am a fully qualified teacher, having gained a PGCE degree in Spanish and French from the Institute of Education, University of London. I also hold a Master's degree in Special and Inclusive Education from the University of Roehampton and I am a specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor with the British Dyslexia Association. As a teacher with over fifteen years of experience, I have taught across all key stages in primary, secondary and special schools. As a result, I have sound knowledge of both the primary and secondary curriculum as well as the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice. Apart from one-to-one classes, I also run reading, handwriting and spelling courses on Sundays as well as creative writing and touch typing classes during the holidays. Expect individual attention and excellent results, as I have a strong commitment to fully developing the strengths and talents of each individual pupil I work with. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? I have an up to date Enhanced CRB Disclosure - Do you belong to any professional organisations? PATOSS (Professional Association Of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) BDA (British Dyslexia Association) General Teaching Council - Tell me about some of your current students. I am currently teaching children between 7 and 18. Each child receives an Individualised Education Plan which is used to guide them in their learning and they have all made excellent progress. Indeed, I find it greatly rewarding to watch my students grow in confidence and ability. I take a holistic approach to tutoring and understand that education is not just about teaching subjects in a mechanical fashion but that other factors may influence the performance of pupils, for example, anxiety or low self-esteem. Taking the latter in mind, I have turned around the most anxious and reluctant students providing them with a love of learning and an ambition to succeed. I have a strong commitment to fully developing the strengths and talents of each individual pupil I teach and adopt a caring and thoughtful approach to students I work with. Most importantly, as professional teacher with over fifteen years of experience, my classes are easy to follow and best of all fun!

I am a fully qualified teacher and consultant based in West London with over fifteen years of teaching experience in primary, secondary and special education schools. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Maths and English to children with or without special educational needs. I hold a Master's degree in Special and Inclusive Education and have extensive experience in supporting children with dyslexia, autism, ADHD and behavioural difficulties. In addition, I am also a literacy specialist and qualified dyslexia teacher and assessor registered with the British Dyslexia Association. As such, I support children who are struggling with reading, writing, spelling and I also provide specialist reports for statutory exams for those who need them. As a qualified teacher, my students enjoy great exam success, as my approach is easy to follow and I also take time to understand each child that I work with. Indeed, I am 100% dedicated to the success of my students and believe that each individual child is a unique gift that has unlimited potential. - Tell me about your qualifications. BA Spanish and French PGCE degree in Spanish and French CELTA Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults MA in Special and Inclusive Education Post Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia - How much do you charge? My basic rate starts at £45 per for online classes and £60 for face-to-face classes. All classes last for one hour with fifteen minutes of feedback at the end of the session. During the initial consultation we discuss the needs of your child and decide on the optimum number of sessions depending on his/her specific requirements. In addition, all parents receive a personalised plan for their child. - Where do you teach? I am located in Shepherds Bush and for face-to-face sessions I mainly teach in West and South West London. However, online classes mean that I am able to teach classes anywhere in the UK. - When are you available? Please contact me in order to discuss your individual needs and I will endeavour to arrange a time that is suitable for you. In addition, it should also be noted that, in the case of specialist dyslexia instruction, schools are usually more than happy for a child to be excused from classes during the day to benefit from this type of tuition. - Which ages and levels do you teach? 5 years to adults - Do you have a personal message for students? I always tell my students that if you are determined to learn then no one can stop you, as anything is possible with a positive attitude and belief in yourself. As your tutor, I will prepare and guide you on every step of your learning journey.
