About Heather
I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Science Education with an emphasis in Secondary Earth Science. I also work as an Instructional Assistant, where I have the opportunity to support students with a variety of learning needs.
I enjoy helping students understand science in a way that feels less overwhelming and more manageable. I’m patient, approachable, and believe that asking questions is an important part of learning. My goal is to help students build both their understanding of science and their confidence in their abilities.
Whether you need help with homework, preparing for a test, or just need someone to explain a difficult topic in a different way, I’m happy to help.

My approach to tutoring is patient, flexible, and focused on making science easier to understand. I like to break difficult topics into smaller steps and use examples that connect to everyday life. I also adjust my teaching style based on how each student learns best.
A typical lesson starts by reviewing what the student already understands and identifying what they are struggling with. From there, we work through the topic together, practice problems or examples, and finish with a quick review to make sure the student feels confident moving forward.
What sets me apart is my experience as an Instructional Assistant. I work with students who have different learning needs, so I understand that there isn't one teaching method that works for everyone. I’m patient and willing to explain something in multiple ways until it makes sense.
I primarily work with middle school and high school students in Earth Science, General Science, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. I can also help with homework, test preparation, study skills, and understanding difficult concepts.
