About Jacob

My name is Jacob, I’m currently an undergraduate student at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from Singapore. I’ve played badminton competitively for the past 12 years, representing my school (in Singapore and London), country (national youth team in Singapore) and division 1 clubs in London right now. I’m looking to become a part-time badminton coach in London because I genuinely enjoy helping others grow in the sport I love. I’ve coached at the biggest badminton academies in Singapore - coaching students of all ages and levels. I’ve also coached over 100 students privately. Coaching allows me to share this passion of mine with others and create a positive space where everyone can enjoy badminton.

About the lesson

I firmly believe in small groups when it comes to badminton training. Private lessons allow for more tailored training sessions to one’s skill level and needs. This would make the lesson more effective and expedite improvements greatly. During my lessons, I’ll focus on strengthening the basics (footwork, strokes, etc.), game intelligence and overall physical fitness.

I’ve been coached by Jacob for badminton, and honestly, he’s one of the best coaches I’ve had. He’s super patient, easy to talk to, and always makes training fun while still pushing you to improve. I really like how he explains things clearly — whether it’s correcting my grip or helping me with positioning, he always makes sure I understand why it matters.

What stands out most about Jacob is that he genuinely cares about his students. He notices your progress, celebrates your wins, and gives honest feedback when you need it. Even on tough days, he knows how to keep you motivated and confident.

I’d definitely recommend Jacob to anyone looking for a coach who’s not just skilled, but also kind, encouraging, and passionate about helping you become a better player. Thanks so much Jacob! Would really recommend Jacob for badminton coaching :)
