About Connor
I am a singing instructor with over 7 years of teaching experience. I work with school students, college attendees, and working adults. I have taught around 300 learners across different ages and skill levels. Many of my students have earned top marks in exams, won competitions, and performed with confidence. Some have even started professional music careers. My teaching focuses on compassion, encouragement, adapting to learning styles, and problem-solving. I believe each voice has its own potential. My role is to help students discover and develop that potential in a supportive environment. I tailor each lesson to the student's goals and learning preferences. I emphasize breath support, pitch accuracy, resonance, and vocal health. I also include ear training, music theory, performance skills, and song interpretation. I guide students through challenges with patience and practical advice. I celebrate every achievement, big or small. I am proud of the growth and confidence I see in my students. My goal is to create a lasting love for singing and help each student find their unique voice.

My teaching philosophy for singing is based on four key elements: compassion, encouragement, personalized learning, and analytical thinking. I see singing as a powerful way to express emotions and connect with others. My goal is to help students discover their natural voice while developing strong technical foundations in a comfortable environment. Compassion is at the center of my work. I know that singing can make students feel exposed and nervous. I create a supportive space where they can try new things, make mistakes, and grow. I am patient and gentle, and I always appreciate their effort and bravery. Encouragement keeps students excited about learning. I choose songs that interest them and set small, reachable goals. I celebrate every achievement, from hitting a hard note to finishing a whole song. I help students see their progress so they stay motivated. Personalized learning is important because everyone learns differently. Some students learn by listening and copying. Others need to see music written down. Some like to understand the theory before they sing. I adjust my lessons to match each student's preferred way of learning. This makes lessons more effective and enjoyable. Analytical thinking helps students solve problems on their own. When a student struggles with pitch, breathing, or nerves, I teach them how to identify the issue and find solutions. We break down challenges step by step, test different methods, and figure out what works. This builds confidence and independence. My lessons cover many areas of singing. Vocal technique is the main focus. I teach breathing, posture, resonance, vowel sounds, and vocal cord control. I use safe exercises to build power and flexibility. I also help students move between different voice registers without strain. Ear training improves pitch and listening skills. I use interval exercises, call-and-response, and harmony practice. Music theory is part of every lesson. I teach rhythm, key signatures, and musical structure so students can learn songs on their own. Performance skills are a major part of my teaching. I help students with stage presence, connecting with the audience, and managing nerves. Song interpretation and storytelling are central to my lessons. I guide students in understanding lyrics and using dynamics and tone to communicate feelings. Vocal health is always included. I teach warm-ups, cool-downs, hydration, and how to avoid strain. Diction and pronunciation are covered for different languages. I also include improvisation and style exploration. For pop and R&B, I teach runs and riffs. For classical, I focus on tone quality and phrasing. Each lesson follows a clear but flexible structure. We start with warm-ups, then technical exercises, and finally apply skills to chosen songs. I use recordings for self-assessment and adjust goals based on progress. My aim is to develop singers who are skilled, expressive, and confident in their voice.
