About Rome
I am a committed flute tutor with 12 years of teaching experience and around 150 students successfully mentored. I teach flute to learners of all levels and focus on comprehensive musical development. My approach emphasises proper breathing, tone production, articulation techniques, finger accuracy, scale practice, and rhythm training.
I believe that clarity and repetition are key to mastering the instrument. I create customised lesson plans that align with each student’s aspirations, whether for exams, performances, or personal enrichment. I provide clear demonstrations and structured exercises that promote steady progress.
My unique strength lies in motivating students to stay disciplined while keeping their enthusiasm alive. I foster a positive learning atmosphere where mistakes are treated as learning opportunities. My ultimate aim is to help students become confident, technically skilled, and expressive flute musicians who continue to grow beyond the classroom.

My flute teaching methodology balances technical precision with creative musical expression. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, ensuring they understand and enjoy the learning process.
I begin with fundamentals such as posture, breath support, embouchure, and tone production. Finger agility, scales, articulation, and rhythm exercises are introduced progressively. Once technical basics are secure, I guide students towards expressive phrasing, dynamics, and stylistic interpretation.
In addition, I teach music theory, notation, ear training, and sight-reading to develop well-rounded musical skills. This ensures students can connect theory with practical performance.
Flexibility allows me to modify lessons based on individual goals, whether performance preparation, exam readiness, or personal enjoyment. Collaboration is encouraged through shared goal-setting, repertoire selection, and feedback sessions.
I foster a positive and motivating environment where students feel confident to experiment and grow. My objective is to nurture technically skilled, expressive, and passionate flute musicians.
