I started by self-teaching when I was a teen and have now grown a career in software engineering with a length of over 8 years and counting. Depending on your goals our time could be spent on a mix of the following:
- Learning about theory so you have a solid foundation for your practical skills
- Hands-on activities to practise your skills like building a fully functional app
- Exploring a specific programming challenge that you're working on
- In-depth discussions about a software engineering career: from how to get started, how to grow in one or tackling a situation you've faced at work
We'll work 1:1 on growing your skills over lessons of up to 2 hours which can be conducted in-person or virtually.
My tutoring experience is driven by the time I've volunteered coaching and mentoring both children and adults with organisations such as Codecademy, Coderdojo, STEMNET and Young Rewired State. Additionally, I have led an engineering team, providing support and guidance to software engineers in both soft and hard skills across a range of seniority levels.
