Hello! My name is Calista. I am currently a high school English teacher! As a younger teacher, I bring a lot of energy and creativity to English. I try to make it fun, meaningful, and different by focusing on why we’re learning what we’re learning. I have a background in journalism and a master’s in educational leadership, and I’m passionate about helping students grow and succeed. I’m a big believer in collaborative learning. I like to follow the “I do it, we do it, you do it” model—starting with examples, working through things together, and then giving you the chance to try it on your own. Learning shouldn’t be a solo mission—it should be a team effort.
I'm here to help you—plain and simple. Tutoring isn’t something to be ashamed of; it’s actually a smart move to get ahead and build confidence in a subject that just needs a little extra attention. With me, we’ll start by laying a strong foundation and taking things step by step. It’s all about rebuilding confidence, filling in the gaps, and making sure you feel solid moving forward.
