About Julia
I have been teaching for 7 years, and have taught students ranging from kindergarten through middle school. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts from NYU with a major in psychology and a minor in business, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from TCNJ, with dual certification in Elementary Education (K-5) and Special Education (K-12).
I am passionate about helping each student succeed and am dedicated to helping students experience success.

I work with students up through high school level on any of the academic subjects or on social skills and problem solving.
Each subject is taught differently. It varies and may include...
-a brief introduction with examples and the student practicing.
-guiding students through the process by exploring and asking questions until they figure it out themselves.
-students begin by showing me what they can do, and I teach into that. (For example, a student begins reading and I teach by giving lessons, sentence starters or ask questions to based on what they need most)
College experience includes classes in Economics, Management, Psychology, Research, and more.

Rates are subject to negotiation based on distance needed to travel, and the level or need of the student. Cancellations should done more than 24 hours before the lesson is set to begin. I do offer some flexibility for illnesses, as long as you are able to reschedule the appointment for a different time.
