I offer a comprehensive approach to help aspiring UK solicitors excel in both SQE1 and SQE2.

I cover all 12 subject areas. I ensure that my students gain a clear understanding of the FLKs and practical principles of the SQE. My classes are student-led, whereby students suggest and focus on topics that they need help with.

I teach students how to master fundamental SQE exam techniques, which I used to succeed. I can also assist with SQE2 mock exams to test knowledge and build confidence, which is particularly important in SQE2.

I have a friendly personality and approach all of my lessons with patience and understanding. Please contact me for a free 30 minute session on how I can help you.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in law during my A-level studies, as I recognised its prevalence in all aspects of society and our personal lives. I went on to pursue a degree in law and later decided to take my SQE exams to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales. Knowing how challenging the SQE exams are, I am passionate about helping others prepare and succeed through tutoring.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach all aspects of the SQE, including thorough explanations of the black letter law (FLK 1 and FLK 2), multiple choice questions for SQE 1, explanation and examples of practical skills (interviewing, advocacy, writing, drafting, research and case and matter analysis) for SQE 2, and general exam techniques. Having gone through the process, I have a solid understanding of each topic area and the key knowledge required. My favourite topic is business administration law, as I work with companies and LLPs in my day job.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My role models and sources of inspiration are my parents. They demonstrated that with hard work and perseverance, I can achieve everything that I set out to do, and motivated me throughout my career.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I believe there are three key qualities that make a truly great tutor. First, a thorough understanding of the material. Second, patience and understanding with students, identifying where they are struggling and breaking concepts down in an easy-to-understand manner. Lastly, a friendly and approachable personality, leading to the creation of a comfortable learning environment.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

Success in the SQE not only requires in-depth knowledge of the legal material, but also requires one to master exam technique and training yourself to be physically and mentally prepared for the stamina required in the exams.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subject?

The SQE was still a relatively new exam when I sat in 2023. There was very little information about the exam and its content available online. I prepared based on advice from my course provider and students who had sat in previous sittings. There is now a wealth of information available online and testimonials from thousands who have sat and passed the exam.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general, an element of the subject, or something completely different?

While I am passionate to help all candidates to pass the exam first-time, my particular passion is to help candidates who are working full-time along side their studies. Having gone through the process with a full-time job and a young family, I can guide students in similar situations with practical tips and advice.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof?

I strive to add true value to my classes to ensure that students are fully prepared for the SQE. As well as simplifying complex legal concepts, I provide first-hand practical advice and knowledgeable insights into the SQE. I cut through the noise and address my students' weaknesses to put them in the best position to pass the challenging exams.
