About Agathe
I had my Bac S in 2012. After pursuing my studies in the scientific path, I finally turned to my real passions: English, and teaching. During my degree, I was an English assistant in a high school for 2 years. I was in charge of whole classes and half-groups on several occasions. After my degree, which I passed with honors, I went to teach French in the United States for a year as a TA. I have been living in Lyon since 2019 for my Research masters and I plan on taking (and passing) the aggregation in 2022.

For me, teaching English is transmitting a passion. I adapt to the student, his needs and his interests. He is put back at the center of his learning and is the main actor. Indeed, he participates in the development of the objectives to be achieved during our sessions. I avoid lectures as much as possible in order to favor dialogue. Some more theoretical explanations are however necessary at times, to fully understand the practice. Thanks to my experience as a scout leader, I know how to use the pupil's imagination and talents to help him progress. Benevolence is at the heart of my pedagogy. Obviously, we do not teach in the same way to a 6th or a 1st, hence a certain pragmatism to adopt. I think that at college level it is necessary to take pleasure in learning, in a fun way, so as not to be disgusted with the subject; while in high school, bac-type exercises are welcome. I would add that I am mobile and available all day from Monday to Saturday, so do not hesitate to call on my services, it will be a great pleasure to work with you.
