About Katharina
I am a student teacher and have been tutoring for 4 years. Furthermore, I have been volunteering at various schools (elementary school and high school) for 2 years. In 2018/2019 I lived in Iceland for a year and worked there as an au pair, swimming instructor and German teacher assistant.

About the lesson

Before the lesson I create my own worksheets and explanations and then go through them with the student. First I explain the topic in English, only after the student has not understood the subject several times, I switch to German. I always try to incorporate the unfamiliar vocabulary into the next worksheets so that they can be practices. However, the student can come to me at any time and ask me to learn about a certain topic or to practice grammar. So that I can prepare my worksheets, it is helpful if the parents tell me the current topics in class. Since I have Aspergers, it is very important that the student immediately says if he or she does not know a word or does not understand something, because I am really poor at reading facial expressions.
