I got to know Bethan at Oxford and she is one of the most talented and thoughtful writers I have ever encountered. Alongside learning Latin from scratch and excelling linguistically, I personally think her ability to construct original and convincing arguments in extended prose is her greatest gift. Her writing is lucid and clear, but incredibly original and intelligent, and the way that she thinks about topics and ideas have influenced my own approach to my degree. She is an exceptionally generative thinker and communicator (perfect for tutoring!) and is easily able to distil complex ideas into approachable segments. She is also very passionate about Classics and the modern applications of classical ideas (including rhetoric, depictions of women, etc) and I believe that this, alongside her enthusiastic teaching approach, makes her a very engaging and invested tutor.
