About Jorge

I am a television writer and general producer with more than 20 years working for National Television in the United States. I am completely bilingual, I read and write in the English language and I can teach practical and useful English lessons that you will use in your daily life. Jorge's career began in 1995 as an assistant producer on CBS Telenoticias. One day he stood in front of a camera and made some jokes, he was immediately asked to direct and write a humor segment as an entertainment reporter for the "Special Edition" program with Guillermo Sauceda and Diana Franco. He was also co-host of the program "Mira Que Te Veo" with Nadia Rowinsky. From 1995 to 1997 he interviewed with his character "Sotolongo he terrible" to the likes of Oscar de Leon, Mana, India, MDO, Jean Claude Van Damme, Luis Fonsi, Café Tacuba, Cristian Castro, Ricardo Arjona, Fey, El Great Combo of Puerto Rico, Los Enanitos Verdes, Alejandra Guzman, Elvis Crespo, Los Hermanos Rosario, Lucia Mendez, Fernando Carrillo, Laura Leon, Charlie Zaa, Guy Ecker, Jaime Camil, Blue Blue, The General, Juan Luis Guerra, Erick Estrada , among others. After 3 years, he moved to the Univision network as a writer / producer and wrote humor segments for Univision showing "Lente Loco" and "El Blablazo." In 2000 he became a Creative Producer for the programs "Pica y Se Extiende" and "El Gordo y La Flaca" with Raúl de Molina and Lili Estefan. In 2008 he became a general and online producer of "Esta Noche Tu Night" with the famous Cuban presenter Alexis Valdes on SBS Group, Mega TV. In that program I used to write 13-minute daily monologues that opened the show. There he led a team of 7 creatives and implemented a workflow that helped the program achieve 15 local rating points, even surpassing the Univision newscast. He also wrote and directed many of the segments of Sketch Comedy, one of which was the character "Carlos Recto." In 2011 Jorge became an Associate Producer of Alternative Programming for NBC Universal Telemundo Miami, writing and producing for Alternate Programing Weekend shows "Nítido", "Descontrol" and "Camara Loca". In 2012, the line produced by CIC's Media shows "Charytin", for SBS Group and Field Producer of "Yo quiero mi Boda" at Cinemat USA. In 2013, he produced and wrote for High Hill Entertainment Show "Suelta la Sopa" / NBC Universal, Telemundo, helping the program reach audience rates of 300 thousand homes per day. There he was a scriptwriter for the "Love Boris" segment of the presenter Boris Izaguirre and collaborator and freelance writer for "The Show of Erika de la Vega almost Late Night" on Telemundo Internacional. Since 2015, Jorge has worked as a creative writer on High Hill Entertainment Show "Suelta la Sopa" for NBC Universal, Telemundo. He has written 2 novels, 2 films in English and several pilots of series that he presented to Univision, NBC, Televisa, TV Azteca and others.

About the lesson

Depending on the student we would know what to focus on. In general, we will focus on talking, translating children's songs and films, and discussing news and fun topics. We will also play improvisation games that will force us to put into practice what we have learned.
