About Yosha

Hi, my name is Yosha! I’m a third-year undergraduate student studying Political Science and Psychology on a pre-law track in the United States. I earned my TESOL Certification from Arizona State University.

I was brought up in Bangalore but I moved to the US at 16 for college. I’m currently on a gap year and during this time, I taught English in Thailand and I plan on continuing to explore South East Asia this year while also teaching English in different countries, and remotely as well. After graduating from college, I plan on going to law school and becoming a lawyer before running for public office in the US.

I enjoy watching and playing basketball, playing the guitar, reading, writing, traveling (a lot haha!), binge-watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, and having conversations about politics and philosophy. I’ve also discovered that I love teaching and meeting new students very much after my teaching stint in Chiang Mai!

About the lesson

My classes are designed for students of all ages and fluency levels, and I adapt my teaching approach based on each student’s goals, proficiency, and learning style. I focus on creating an engaging and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable practicing and improving their English naturally.

From my teaching experience, I’ve learned that people learn best when they’re engaged, having fun, and actively participating. That’s why I make my classes as interactive, fun, and stimulating as possible—especially for kids! So, for younger learners, I often incorporate games, songs, dances, storytelling, Kahoot quizzes, and fun projects to help them develop their vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, and conversation skills in a way that feels exciting rather than intimidating. My goal is to keep them engaged while ensuring they build a strong foundation in English.

For teenagers and adults, I emphasize real-world conversations, practical exercises, and advanced reading and listening materials to strengthen their fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension. Depending on their needs, I also integrate role-playing, discussions, and structured exercises that mimic real-life situations, helping them gain confidence in speaking and understanding English in professional, academic, or social settings.

I also offer specialized lessons for students who require focused instruction, such as TOEFL or IELTS preparation, job interview coaching, business English, academic writing, and college essay assistance.
