About Emily
Hi! I'm Emily, a 21 year old student at the University of York. I study English and Politics, which are both subjects that I find incredibly fascinating.
I first started tutoring English during sixth form to students studying for their GCSE's. The sessions were fun and engaging, and I found it offered the opportunity for students to have an in depth, personalised analysis of the text.
As a University student I am continuing to tutor in the hope of inspiring students, and also helping spread my knowledge to boost student's grades and their confidence in English.

Within my lessons I aim to encourage, inspire and most of all educate students about the wonders of English. I hold a predicted first class degree in English and Politics and an A* at English Literature A level.
Lessons range from 30-90 minutes, depending on the depth needed. I am able to provide tutoring sessions for all age ranges and will adapt the session to meet their needs.
I am able to provide assistance with:
- SAT, GCSE and A level exam preperation
- Homework and curriculum topics
- Spelling and grammar exercises
- Essay help
- University applications or CV's
Within the first session we will have a conversation about your needs and what you would like to focus on. We'll go through what you have been studying within class and areas that you have found particularly difficult. For students studying GCSE and A Level we'll go through a past essay and gage areas of strength and weakness. For younger students in primary school I will set a mini test before or during our first session. For students wanting University application or CV assistance we'll go through the application together.
