As a student of history, I want to support students in understanding historical topics. What is important to me here is above all the contextual setting of the topic to be treated, which is rarely done in school lessons (most likely for the lack of time). For the mere sequence of events, dates, wars, battles, revolutions does not tell the whole story and does not necessarily give the student an actual understanding. In short, it's easier to remember if you actually understand it.
