About Adele
I am a college freshman currently majoring in psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. However, I am planning to apply into the School of Media and Journalism for my sophomore year. I love writing of all types and literature from all ages. I believe good writing is an essential skill that all students should have the opportunity to develop before beginning their academic careers at universities and beyond.

First and foremost, I believe in being approachable and empathetic. I want students who come to me to feel supported. School is not everything, and it's important to recognize that! That being said, as someone who loves all things English, my goal is to help middle school and high school students develop foundational paper writing skills and the ability to analyze literature. Paper writing skills include, but are not limited to, thesis construction, concise statements, and proper grammar. Literature analysis involves breaking down works into literary devices and intended meaning. Once these foundational skills are established, then the student can develop their own authentic voice in their writing. I will review assignment expectations and rubrics with students, help them outline, ensure they implement analysis, and assist them in polishing a rough draft into a final. I believe good writing is possible for everyone, and I hope to help students discover their voices and capabilities!
