About Isabelle

I’m Isabelle, a current university student with a deep passion for English Language, Politics, Drama, and Journalism. My academic journey has given me both strong subject knowledge and a real appreciation for how these subjects connect to the world around us. I enjoy making lessons engaging, relatable, and inspiring, whether that’s by exploring the power of language, debating political ideas, analysing dramatic texts, or unpacking the craft of journalism.

I understand the pressures of exams and coursework because I’ve been through them myself recently, and I know how important it is to feel confident and supported. I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a personalised approach to every session, ensuring students feel heard, understood, and motivated.

When I’m not studying or tutoring, I enjoy reading widely, writing creatively, and exploring topics that spark discussion and curiosity — all of which feed into my teaching. My goal is to help every student not just succeed academically, but also develop skills that will serve them well in life.

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to the individual student, starting with a clear discussion of your goals and any areas you’d like to focus on. I adapt my teaching to your learning style — whether that’s breaking down complex ideas into simple steps, using practical examples, or engaging in interactive discussion to explore different perspectives.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, giving us plenty of time to cover key topics while keeping the pace manageable. A typical session might include a short recap of previous work, an in-depth exploration of new material, practice tasks or discussions, and a short review at the end to consolidate learning. I also provide guidance on revision strategies, exam techniques, and how to plan and structure written work effectively.

I work with GCSE and A-Level students of all abilities, as well as anyone preparing for coursework, essays, or university applications. Whether you’re looking to boost your grades, build confidence in presenting ideas, or simply enjoy learning more about your subject, my lessons are designed to be engaging, productive, and focused entirely on your progress.
