About Hannah

As an undergraduate student from a leading Russell Group university, I'm ambitious for myself and my students, believing in the importance of harnessing consistency, perseverance, and self-confidence. As an academic music student, my course entails a variety of different skills, which range from music theory and essay writing to composition and performance. I'm an avid flautist, singer, and foremost diploma-level pianist. I believe in inspiring and expanding students' views on learning through creativity and self-expression. Alongside establishing a passion for the subject, I also focus on exam technique and teaching the required study strategies that gained me my A* grades at A level and all 8s and 9s in GCSE.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Hannah. I undertake Music and English tutoring and can also help with Sociology or any other Humanity subjects. Aside from the practical parts of my music course, I enjoy writing essays, music reviews and reading novels and poetry. My love of Music extends to English literature, a subject which I gained an A* in at A level. When engaging with English students, I aim to deepen the student's understanding of English through its introspective and intricate nature to try to harness a real passion and motivation for the subject. I also focus a lot on revision and study skills in preparation for exams such as practice questions, mind maps, flashcards and other strategies. I can also teach music theory or Music as an academic subject such as its essay-writing aspects. I gained an A* in music A level and distinction in my grade 8 piano exam. I will happily take on students of any level whether they are trying to excel or pass.

Full disclosure here...I am her dad... but I would like to say that Hannah is a 3 A* A-level student and is also studying Music at York University. She has plenty of experience teaching piano which I think will serve her well with any other tutoring including in English. She also is incredibly well read and writes poetry in her spare time.
