About Lohitha
Hi, I am Lohitha, a Biology student. I enjoy helping students succeed in math and chemistry. During my academic career, I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, while maintaining a high GPA taking advanced science and math classes.
I had previous experiences in tutoring math and science at nonprofit organizations which taught me that every student learns differently.
Aside from tutoring, I have also had great experiences with leadership, volunteering, and healthcare related activities that have helped me develop my communication skills, patience, and ability to work with people from many different backgrounds. These experiences have allowed me to connect with students, to understand their individual needs and to adapt my teaching style accordingly.
I believe academic success comes from understanding concepts, not from memorizing procedures. I don't just want to help students get better grades, but to become independent learners who are confident to approach new challenges on their own.

My teaching approach involves understanding the concepts behind problems rather than memorizing topics/formulas. Challenging topics will be simplified in different ways based on the student. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to match each student's needs, pace, and learning preferences.
A typical lesson will begin with reviewing previous material and identifying areas of difficulty. We will then work through new concepts together using examples and clear explanations before practicing increasingly challenging problems. I regularly check for understanding, answer questions, and provide strategies for exams, homework, and long-term retention.
As a tutor, I focus not only on helping students find the correct answer but also on teaching them how to think through problems independently. My goal is to build confidence, improve study habits, and help students develop skills that will benefit them beyond a single class or exam.
My lessons are designed for middle school students, high school students, and college students taking introductory courses in mathematics, general chemistry, and organic chemistry.
