Irene was one of the best lecturers I had at university. She has a real talent for making political economy feel alive, and for showing why the ideas actually matter rather than just teaching theories from a textbook. I always looked forward to her classes because they were challenging without ever feeling intimidating, and she encouraged us to question things instead of simply accepting the right answer. She also cared a lot about her students. She was generous with her time, gave really thoughtful feedback on essays, and was always willing to talk through ideas if you were stuck. I came away from her course feeling much more confident in my own thinking and writing.
