About Elana

I hold a BA Liberal Arts, Major in English Literature, from Kings College London, and an MSc in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh, excelling at essay and dissertation writing. I have taught refugees English as a second language, tutored IB and GCSE students in English Language and Literature, and provided proof-reading and essay-coaching services from high school to post graduate level.

About the lesson

My teaching method is interactive, engaging and flexible. I will customise my syllabi to your needs, balancing traditional texts by linking them to contemporary relevance, and teaching to the pace that you require. My teaching methodology aims to not only achieve good results, but to improve students’ love of language and literature- showing students that anyone can be a good writer with a little help.

I love to help students work on everything from proper use of grammar and engaging sentence structure, to making a powerful point. However, I do this by helping students dig deeper in understanding the text and the rich history and beauty that surrounds it, helping students develop a passion for their argument.

I specialise in helping students review and improve their essays, ideally at high school and university level.

Perfect! Perfect! Elana, is great with my son! My son is gaining ample knowledge to easily face his GCSE under Elana's brilliantly, well structured and articulate manner. She delivered all her lessons so flamboyantly and clear that my son, without realising, is enjoying, listening and applying in to his work. I have seen great improvement in only 1 month. Mostly importantly, she understands my son, she just gets him, she talks about his interest and use that in her teaching! She gives him homework, go through it, make sure corrections are done, excellent feedbacks. I will highly recommend her. Thanks Elana.
