About Ana

I am currently a university student in Canada working on my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. I also hold a college diploma in Business Administration. Through my experiences, I have built up an understanding of the teaching and learning styles that work, as well as the ones that don't.

Every learner is different, and I strive to provide an educational experience that is rewarding, thorough, and practical. I'm flexible, so I can work with your learning style (whether it's visual, verbal, or auditory), as well as with your schedule.

Your success is important to me, but so is your enjoyment of the course. Learning a new skill should never feel degrading because of your lack of experience in the subject. Learning should be fun! Therefore, if given the opportunity, I will work hard to ensure you not only survive, but also thrive in my class.

About the lesson

Classes are currently CLOSED. Lesson requests will be accepted for the FALL TERM (classes begin on August 5th, 2026).

For Students Learning English as a Second Language:

I was born in Canada to two Filipino immigrants. Growing up, English was my first and only spoken language. However, this has allowed me to understand the difficulty of speaking a foreign language in a country that is not your own. I can help you with that! Here's how:

- Literacy: reading, writing, and speaking in English. You will learn new vocabulary every class, write in English, and share "verbals," where you will read (out loud) what you have written in class. These don't have to be perfect--just do your best!

-Breaking barriers: I may have grown up speaking mostly English, but today, I'm very skilled at learning different languages. For this class, I will learn YOUR language as well. This way, we can communicate more easily throughout our lessons.

- English culture: my favorite way to learn a language is through the culture--movies, music, books, etc. You will not only learn English as a language, but as a lifestyle as well!

For Students Learning Classic Literature:

I'm a big reader, and although I'm not an expert, I love sharing my passion for Classic Literature with readers of all levels--whether you're a student in Junior High aiming to get ahead of your reading, or just an avid reader looking to deepen your understanding of world literature, I can help you get there through in-depth analysis of both renowned literary works and lesser-known masterpieces.

Details

Classes are held online over Zoom meetings. You can choose how often you would like to attend these classes, but I require attendance for at least two classes a week. Let me know what you would prefer! I will work with your schedule and budget :)
