About Alyssa
I am a high school graduate with honours, did two years of university as an English major before switching to college to study business. I have tutored for many years which in college and university as well as teaching younger students in high school. I have worked with a range of students at all levels of understanding from those just needing a confidence boost before a test to those needing intensive study to catch up on missed materials. I have worked with special needs students in the past including children and teens with ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia.

I focus on creating lasting study habits and forming conceptual understanding. Success is measured not only by grades but the confidence in your own abilities. I create lesson plans based on the needs of the student and believe that with the right teacher learning can be a positive and rewarding experience. I start lessons with a quick refresh of the skills learned in the last session before beginning the new material. I introduce new concepts in both oral, written, and visual form when available.
