About Lauren
I’m currently studying psychology at Royal Holloway University of London and did an A-Level in English language. I have tutored a year 9 student before in English and very much enjoyed it. Her teachers expressed how her grades had improved and she told me how much more confident she felt in English classes and assignments after the tutoring. I’ve always loved teaching and also regularly help my younger sister with her GCSE level school work and have helped her since she was working towards her SATs in year 6.

I like to be as creative as I can with my teaching methods, trying out different ways to see what the student enjoys and responds best to. I like to come up with my own worksheets that encourage creative thinking through methods such as describing each of the senses in a certain environment. When looking at understanding a story or poem I like to tell the student to stop reading after each page or few pages and write down what happened in their own words so they have a full summary that they can easily understand due to the complex language of some books that students are asked to read. These are just a few of my methods and I’m always looking for ones more suited to each individual student.
