About Katie
I am a recent graduate of the University of Virginia, where I graduated summa cum laude with a double major in English and French. During this time, I wrote an independent thesis and received awards in both the English and French departments for academic excellence. I taught English in France during this past year, gaining fluency in French, and have worked as a summer camp counselor for multiple summers, giving me extensive experience working with and teaching children. Further, I taught English as a Second Language throughout my college career to international students at my university.

I am happy to teach all ages but have the most experience with high school students. With both English and French, I believe in discussion-based models that are based on readings (with English, whatever piece of literature your student is studying). I am also willing to provide supplemental guidance to students who are trying to keep up with online courses due to the COVID-19 crisis.
