About Ella
Hi! My name is Ella (she/her), and I am a History Undergraduate student at the University of Warwick. I have a passion for history and specialise in Tsarist and Russian history, a topic which is studied at some schools for A-Levels. I run a history blog focussing on Tsarist history which has amassed over 3000 followers.
I achieved a 9 in History at GCSE and an A* in History at A-Level. Having completed my A-Levels in 2021, I am familiar with the pressure of exams and the importance of understanding technique. Writing assuredly and going into your exam feeling confident is so important, and this is what I want to promote in my tutoring.

My approach will revolve around exam technique and what examiners are looking for. Whenever possible, I will use my own Level 6 (A*) essays and coursework to demonstrate model answers. Because of this, I can also explain my thought process behind the answer, as well as other aspects of exam work such as planning out an essay and managing time in exams. I will place particular focus on the importance of discussing short-term vs long-term impact in essays, along with 'de facto' and 'de jure' interpretations of the history at hand. Primary and secondary sources will also be used, and will be tailored to the particular course/unit that the student it taking.
Lessons will typically be one hour long, and will focus around the students' needs.
