About Anuj
Hi, I'm Anuj, a London-based machine learning engineer with a degree in Computational Sciences from USC.
I tutor maths, physics, statistics and Python. Alongside my engineering work, I have given guest lectures on machine learning at universities, helped PhD students prepare for their statistics qualifying exams, and mentored engineers learning Python for data science.
I teach because not everyone gets the chance to learn from someone who uses these subjects in their daily work. I am also self-taught in many areas, so I know how much the right explanation at the right time can change what you think you are capable of.
My lessons are structured, patient and focused on your goals, whether that is a better grade, passing an exam or building your first project.

About the lesson

I start by finding out exactly where you are. The first lesson includes a short diagnostic so I can see which topics are solid and which need work, and we agree on a goal together (a target grade, an upcoming exam, or a project you want to finish).
From there, lessons follow a simple pattern: I explain the idea from first principles, we work through examples together, then you try problems on your own while I watch how you think. I care more about you understanding why a method works than memorising steps, because that is what holds up under exam pressure.
For exam students, I use past papers from your specific board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and focus on how marks are actually awarded. For coding, you write real code from the first lesson, building small projects in Python rather than just reading theory.
Lesson length
Lessons are usually 60 minutes. For A-level, university or coding project work, 90 minutes often works better. All lessons are online, with a shared whiteboard and screen sharing.
Qualifications and experience
I have a degree in Computational Sciences from the University of Southern California (USC), where I also gave guest lectures on machine learning and deep learning. I have mentored PhD students preparing for the statistics portion of their qualifying exams, and mentored several engineers learning Python for data science.
I work as a machine learning engineer, and was previously the founding ML engineer at a London startup, so I use maths, statistics and Python every day. I can show students where what they are learning actually gets used.
