About Grace

During my 12 years of singing, I have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the London Coliseum while being in the Nutcracker as well as 15 BBC productions and many more. I sing above the grade 8 standard whilst achieved distinctions in classical and musical theatre grades. My expertise would be choral music since I started that more than a decade ago. However, I am able to teach various styles ranging from opera to popular music. Recently, I competed against 25 other soloists for the soprano solo of the Agnus Dei from the Mozart Coronation Mass. I was awarded the role and performed at Fairfield Halls. Another highlight would be performing the soprano solos for the Misirere mei, Deus and Cujus animam gementem from Stabat Mater by G. B. Pergolesi. Lastly, I tutor some of my peers Music GCSE and help with some of their music theory. These skills are implemented within my lessons to give my students an understanding of the fundamental aspects of music.

About the lesson

My process is for people of any age with a high tessitura but young students are preferred. First, I would have to do a small test. This would show their starting point e.g. what they are struggling on and their shining elements such as tonality or intonation. This would include scales arpeggios, sight singing, intervals and a few more. After the little examination I would determine the difficulty but always allow room for a challenge. I would also allocate some time to teach about vocal warm ups and making sure they learn how to take care of the voice increasing the chance of being a better singer.

I’ve known Grace for a number of years now, and I can say she is a great musican and natural teacher. Her passion for music shines through everything she does to inspire others to enjoy learning music but also develop their skills in the process. She is well -organised, reliable and committed to help people succeed, but also brings a friendly and approachable energy that makes people feel comfortable and supported.

Grace helped me improve my singing technique because I used to just sing for fun. I now have more tonality and vibrato within my voice. A friend recommended her I was a bit reluctant because of her age but she exceeded my expectations!
