He was one of the brightest students, creative writers and actors back in our undergraduate years at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. He demonstrated a flair for directing and training even then.

Since we graduated in 1999, he has been at the forefront of film writing and directing. I'm a good playwrights with many works staged at the National Theatre, Terrakulture, and university theatres yet recently Gbenga taught me how to write a screenplay. I did write a screenplay that was professionally produced and I got paid a healthy amount of money for it.

Why can he be trusted? Gbenga is a thoroughbred and natural writer and thespian. He is driven by love of the arts and will never walk disgracefully in the industry or even in his personal life.

And lastly, let me say I have known Gbenga since 1995. We were together everyday for four years and have been close over the years. I taught his Underbridge Epitaph (a novel) to undergraduate students between 2007 and 2008.
