About Johnny
1 - How long have I been teaching:
I spent time teaching my friends and family from ages 10-20. Some for free. Some for pay. Nothing steady. I was learning basics too. I learned by teaching. I got my first real teaching gig around age 22. It was at our local State University. I was commissioned to teach an after hour adult guitar class. When that ended I continued teaching private lessons and I have not stopped since.
2 - Other relevant experience
Other instruments, Sound, Recording, etc.
3 - How many people have I taught/mentored
Taught - over 100
Mentored - around 75 (2 bands/choirs)
4 - How successful were they under your guidance (results, degrees, exams, etc)
Very. Some gave up but the ones who pushed forward succeeded in different ways. Some...

Who I am & Who am I looking for:
My name is, Johnny Red. Guitar is my main instrument. I also play drums, bass, keys and sing. I'm a lifelong student of music. I am looking to connect with humble students who will commit to disciplined learning and want to apply themselves to both musical growth and personal excellence.
What it looks like:
1. All classes are online and will be held once a week.
2. A few minutes will be spent upfront reviewing the previous week.
3. If needed, we will play together for a few minutes.
4. We will then go over the current week's assignment.
5. The rest of our session will be spent playing together.
6. If the lesson goes over an hour - it's free.
How I teach and why:
I teach in a very roundabout way and sometimes it's hard to see the lesson coming until after you've learned it. This is strange for some people but can be appreciated over time. Every week I consider the student's chosen learning path and it's trajectory. Then I contrast that with the struggles they are currently having with either execution or understanding. I then apply my experience and come up with a dynamic lesson for the week.
Why do I teach like that? Because it gets results.
