About Tyler

I have been in the film industry for 5+ years working in various crew positions on films, music videos, and commercials. I graduated from New York Film Academy in Burbank with honors. I have also worked and been taught from people who have gone to USC, Chapman, AFI, and Columbia.

I have been giving private tutoring lessons to students in LA for about a year now. I love teaching about the film industry and wish I had someone to teach me all that I know much earlier than I did. I want to help you in your journey.

About the lesson

So many techniques that are taught for getting into the industry and networking are out of date. I want to teach you how to utilize the tools around you in this modern era of filmmaking. I will work with you in making sure you know the inner workings of every department on a set, from writing to editing. I will also teach you the best strategies to network and how to meet people that will get you the jobs you want in the future. This industry is fun to be apart of and learning about it should be the same.

I give lessons in Screenwriting, Directing, Assistant Directing, Cinematography, Camera Assisting, Gaffing, Gripping, and Assisting Production.

A typical lesson will give you an overview of each department and what they do, and how you can apply yourself and learn the specifics from that department. But I also want to cater to what you want to learn. If their is a certain department you want to get into, for example, screenwriting, I will teach you the best tools to write a script, how to write a script, how to make it good, and how to get people to read it and so much more.

I think the best way to learn filmmaking is to be hands on, and I will show you how stuff all around us can be used to get your first project out there.

My lessons are mainly for beginners who want to get their foot in the door and know little to nothing about the industry. These lessons are also for film students who may be having a hard time understanding the material in school and need some extra help. Or maybe you've been trying to the get into the industry for a long time and need to figure out a new way to get on the right track. I am here for anybody and everybody, I am here for you.

He taught me so much and because of him, I got my first job as a production assistant on a short film. People were surprised to know that it was my first film job because Tyler prepared me so much.
