About Kathy
I married my college sweetheart who became an Air Force Officer after also graduating from UGA and we travelled around the world. This has given me many exciting teaching opportunities! I've taught in Kansas, Nebraska and Florida. In 1998 we moved to Japan for five years where I taught kindergarten - second grades on the military base, working for the Department of Defense Dependant Schools. I also taught English to Japanese children and adults off base. In 2003 we moved to Germany where I taught first - fourth grades on the military base for DoDDS until moving back to the states in 2015.

I have an Associates of Science in Education degree from Young Harris College and a Bachelors from the University of Georgia in Early Childhood Elementary Education. I am two courses away from having my masters in Teacher Leadership from American Public University. In addition to the degrees I have many graduate hours of continuing education classes in teaching reading and writing, using technology in the classroom and action research. I'm a life-long student myself.
