• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I started tutoring to help my fellow students who’d asked me for help. I found I really loved seeing those light bulb moments when they finally understood the perfect way to express their ideas.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  We communicate every day, all day. I want to help people build the confidence and expertise in communication so that they can make every day and every word count.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  This may be a little cheesy, but I really do love it when people no longer need me. Silly part to love, the part where I’m not a tutor anymore, I know. But that means they’re confident enough in themselves and their skills to flourish. That’s a cool feeling.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  My third grade teacher, Mr Stanton, inspires my teaching style. I mean, a few years at university and a degree in education are big contributors, but Mr. Stanton taught me (by example) how to be patient.

• What are your keys to success?

  Being able to laugh at yourself and your situation is key. English is a stupid language and can be really frustrating to learn. Being able to laugh at it, yourself and the tutoring showing you how to move your mouth to sound out “w” is paramount to success.
