About Mirra

I'm Mirra, a quintessential late bloomer who loves this language, truly from the bottom of her heart. And I've taught for over 2.5 years both online and offline, my most recent past 9 months being dedicated to teaching English online exclusively.

My graduation was in Philosophy and I'm also a certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher. But my interests include fantasy fiction, psychology, music, beauty, spirituality, and much more, so chances of finding something in common, and me using those exact interests to make the learning easier, are VERY high.

Ever since I discovered that reading fantasy novels and watching thriller movies like Oceans 11 could add to my vocabulary and listening practice, I wanted to bring the same creativity and fun to anyone else who was interested.

My MAIN teaching exports are Phonics, Grammar, Public Speaking, Creative Writing, and Business English such as Interview prep and Workplace Communication, for any and all ages, truly.

I honestly love learning, experimenting, and observing how the language works, how a simple word change can give you a different feeling, or how the way refining a thought can express your true intention, and I love watching my students realise it too.

In my class, I will work to help you reach YOUR goals, consider YOUR learning style, and also focus on YOUR mindset through it all (which basically means making mistakes will become so normalised, there would be no shame, only genuine progress every time you do.) Because I have a habit of including a little bit of motivational and soft conversation.

About the lesson

I understand learning anything, especially another language, is such a vulnerable position to be in, and that is something common in all the students I've taught from the ages 3 to 55.

Every single one was met where they were, whether it was giving lots of motivation to the college principal who kept worrying if she was doing it right, to the 4th grader who only wanted to know how to gain aura (sigh).

The thing I'd love for you to know is that for every session, I try my absolute best to make the concept easier for you, no matter how many times I have to explain the same thing again, and no matter what your doubts are.

And on top of that, the 50 mins we spend together will not be boring either. The number one feedback I've gotten from my students has always been that the classes are interesting, and everyone from nursery
students to 17 year olds, find themselves looking forward to it.

My classes are a customised experience revolving around YOUR skill sets, mindset, and goals.

While certain things in the language remain the same, what changes is what way of studying it works for you to learn in the best way possible. Whether it's through theory, games, songs, or even binge watching the show Friends.

I always bring energy, preparedness, punctuality, and empathy to all my classes. This will not be an authoritarian atmosphere, and I will do my best no matter what you want to learn.
