About Ellie
I fell in love with yoga when I moved to Amsterdam in 2018. From a sports background through childhood, I had typically competed in teams and participated in fast paced activities. It always felt 'too fast' and away from my natural rhythm. Practising yoga brought me to my centre, at my own pace.
I connected after a few years to hatha yoga with my wonderful teacher - holding poses longer to build strength, flexibility and calmness not only in the body, but within the mind too. I noticed the steadiness I had been building and it transferred as patience and mindfulness to my day-to-day work as a nanny with young children. Combining yin classes with hatha offers deeper relaxation, improved joint mobility and an overall holistic care to physical and mental health.
I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher training in Peru in 2024, and have been teaching private clients since. I bring a light & playful nature, cultural awareness & sensitivity, presence, and knowledge of anatomy and alignment to class, tailored to your goals and needs.
I now teach English to Brazilian teenagers online too, continuing my passion for sharing language, culture and practices with others.

To cultivate balance, awareness and union, we can practise simple, but creative and mindful yoga to bring our bodies and minds into equilibrium.
We can work on your goals together in 1:1 classes in person or online. Perhaps tight hips, reducing stress or simply being present.
I have experience holding space and teaching for many types of needs, including beginners curious to explore yoga, chronic illness, children's yoga, and chair yoga.
