About Bella
Having served as a private writing tutor, academic coach and college application specialist, I have five years experience helping students achieve their writing goals. I graduated from Pitzer College with a degree in English world literature with a concentration in creative writing. I worked on college applications with students who have been accepted at elite universities such Emory University, Vanderbilt University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Every student has the ability to organize and express their ideas and unique story through engaging well structured writing. From brainstorming captivating personal statement topics to responding to essay prompts I begin by talking it through with students before beginning their first draft. My approach to tutoring is all about constant feedback. Students need to tell me what works for them and my job is to offer constructive feedback to push students' to produce the writing that is already inside them. While editing is the most important skill I work on with students, helping students figure out how to begin the writing process is crucial. No one likes the feeling of staring at a blank document. I help students overcome the fear of the blank document and work to transform their writing into something they are proud of to achieve their goals.
