About John
Hello, I'm John. My lifelong passion for the English language, from the epic tales of Classical Culture to the fine details of a perfectly crafted sentence, forms the foundation of my teaching. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, and I have practical experience as a professional proofreader, helping writers sharpen their message with clarity and precision. This background gives me a unique perspective, blending academic knowledge with real-world application. What I find most rewarding is empowering students to find their own voice and build true confidence in their abilities. Hello! My name is John, and my goal is to make learning English an engaging and confidence-boosting experience. My teaching philosophy is built on patience and adapting to your unique learning style. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, I create personalized lessons that directly target your goals.
What sets my teaching apart is the comprehensive range of topics we can cover. We can build foundational literacy and grammar skills, polish your essays to perfection through expert proofreading, unlock your imagination with creative writing, or explore the rich history of Classical Culture and its impact on literature.
A typical lesson with me involves:
* Goal Setting: We'll start by quickly reviewing your progress and setting a clear objective for the session.
* Interactive Work: We'll dive into the main task, whether it's analyzing a text, workshopping your writing, or practicing specific techniques.
* Constructive Feedback: I'll provide clear, actionable feedback and strategies you can use immediately.
* Recap & Next Steps: We'll end by summarizing what we learned and outlining a plan for your continued success.
These lessons are perfect for high school and university students needing help with essays and exam preparation, as well as anyone looking to improve their writing and communication skills. Let's work together to achieve your academic and personal goals!
