Why learn art?

Art provides a unique perspective on the world, offering diverse viewpoints. Have you ever felt a bit lost in a museum? Each piece tells a story when approached right.

Art is the inspiration behind our visual world, from ads to films, even when you glance at your phone, where social media delivers a constant visual stream. We live in a visual culture, immersed in daily imagery and videos that influence our decisions. It takes less than 4 seconds to interpret visual information.

Designers and artists shape our everyday lives, whether reading a street sign, or sharing a funny meme. So, why struggle to understand art? I'm eager to discuss your interests and prepare you for the world of art and visual communications!

About the lesson

I specialise in diverse art history and visual communication topics, including media advertising, visual semiotics, graphic communication, and art movements from prehistoric to contemporary, tailored to your interests.

Suitable for future BA or MA students in Art History, Fine Art, Visual Communications, Curation, Arts Management, Graphic Design, Media Communications, and related fields. Ideal for easing into program formats, gaining general knowledge, and preparing for future coursework. Tailored lessons also offer dissertation support and inspiration for art lovers.

Techniques and Methodology:

Structured for university preparation, lessons incorporate visual presentations, lectures, films, academic books, CRITICAL analysis of art historian perspectives and VISUAL ARTWORK SEGMENTATION. Interactive elements like trivia, quizzes, art-making, art debates, and other practical exercises can also be included. On-site gallery and museum visits can be arranged if of interest, for those based in London, UK. Lessons can be adapted to fit individual needs and requirements.

Lesson Length:

Typically 60 minutes.

Qualifications/Experience:

Art History & Visual Culture graduate with extensive London art scene experience, collaborating with institutions like the Wallace Collection, Barbican Centre, and Frieze. Conducted webinars for BA students at Richmond University.
