About Esme

I play for Gene Pool, and operate as a Sound Designer between work and studying, I also like to make weird gadgets in Max MSP, and bask in the sun.
I also play bass whenever I can because it's my second favourite instrument!

About the lesson

If you want to learn in an easy-going environment, that is what I want to foster. I focus more on playing than theory in lessons, but the theory does support this so I am happy to teach it.
Lessons can be half an hour to an hour long. I will encourage students to spend most of the lesson behind the kit, playing from the get-go, with various exercises to warm up and some time at the end for focusing on music.

I have had the benefit of being taught by many good tutors and have been playing for 10+ years. I have spent my drumming career so far playing in various bands and gaining experience as a session musician, and I am now playing for Gene Pool.

Having known Esme for a few years and talking many times about music I can say confidently that
Esme is an experienced drummer with both practical and theoretical knowledge across multiple styles of drumming. Just as importantly however she is also very friendly and patient, able to answer questions - simple and difficult - thoroughly and thoughtfully. I think she is very well cut out to be a drumming tutor.
