About Jeremy
I am a professional writer, I love writing, and I also love teaching students how they can enjoy English by better understanding it.
I teach for results – you might want help with your GCSE or your A level, I know how important a good grade is, and how focused you have to be on answering the questions as clearly and imaginatively as possible.
I also teach many students who need to improve their general level of English, where really enjoying the tutorial is vital.

Cambridge graduate, published writer, fiction and non-fiction.
I have been tutoring for 10 years, TOEFL, GCSE, A level and university.
My students range in age from 9 to 22.
Lessons usually last an hour.
We look at curriculum textbooks and set texts if you are preparing for an exam.
For general English I like to choose texts that will be both interesting and challenging – newspaper and magazine articles, essays, poetry… that might mean the basketball writing of Kobe Bryant one day, Homer the next.
Classic Cambridge close reading is my method, looking at a text line by line, developing an understanding of how a writer builds the whole structure.
