About Philip

As a young boy my mother, who was a highly educated corporate administrator, insisted that I develop a perfect North American English accent. I was always the best reader and speller in my elementary school. I always have been attracted to and fascinated by the sound of the human voice. It was in my employment as a special education aide in my city's public school system, that I discovered speech-language pathology and therapeutics. At my university I majored in journalism and speech communication. During my education at the University of New Mexico Journalism Program, I was selected for an internship with New Mexico's largest radio station to read the news on-air. Who would have guessed that years later I would become a certified accent reduction specialist teaching ESL learners how to pronounce American English properly. About the lesson

-- My classes can be individually tailored to meet your specific pronunciation and conversational goals. --I teach all facets of ESL - Grammar, Vocab & Pronunciation. As an Accent Reduction Specialist, I teach ESL learners to pronounce conversational American English properly. --If you are seriously interested in improving the sound and style of your speech, my American English pronunciation program can help you. -- I am an accomplished native American English speaker residing in Bogota, Colombia, and I have been teaching my methods since Fall of 2011. --The industries that I primarily consult with are: Aviation, Business Process Outsourcing/Call Centers, Hospitality, Logistics and various corporate and government entities. -- I also specialize in helping clients with workplace presentations, business English and special projects. --A prospective student for my program should have at least a CEFR Advanced A2 level of English. -- In closing, my overall mission is to help my students achieve BETTER EXPRESSION, COMMUNICATION and CONFIDENCE.
