About Chris
I love stories and communication. I love books, movies/tv and the theatre, opera and ballet. I love languages and learning how people talk to each other. I have been learning languages my whole life - and I will not stop!
My college students love how I can break down what something means. Many of my tutoring students love how personalised explanations are. And my youngest students love my joy, passion and energy.
I want to meet you and help you appreciate the English language, whether it is to read stories, analyse language, examine poetry, or learn the grammar rules.
If you are in exam years, I will ensure that each session is geared towards your exam's mark scheme - and towards the marks you are missing out on, but can achieve.

I regularly teach lessons that are 30 minutes, an hour and an hour and a half. You pick!
I like to make it logical and interesting for you. I use online quizzes and games, compare techniques to everyday examples, and I want us both to have fun. My expectations are high - I will support you, give you resources and homework, but I want your best. I want you to put in the effort with me.
My youngest online learner right now is three. My oldest student last year was 30. Any age, any level.
I use props, games, and real books. I use TPR (Total Physical Response) and plenty of questioning.
I have taught English at college for the past 2 years, I am TEFL certified, with a teaching degree and a detailed understanding of HOW languages work.
