About Samantha

Hey, I’m Samantha and I’ve been on my own education journey for over 10 years now which has been grounded in my professional experiences across youth justice, youth work, social care and education sectors, I want to offer tutoring because I’m deeply passionate about using education as a tool for empowerment and social change. Critical and transformative pedagogy inspires me to create a learning environment where students can question the status quo, analyse societal issues, and develop their own voice. I believe education should be a space for self-discovery, reflection, and active engagement with the world, and I want to guide students in developing not just academic skills, but also a sense of agency to make a positive impact on issues that matter to them

About the lesson

In our sociology tutoring sessions, we’ll approach learning through a lens of critical and transformative pedagogy. This means you won’t just be memorising facts—you’ll be encouraged to question the world around you, think critically about social issues, and explore how power, privilege, and inequality shape our society. We’ll have open, thought-provoking discussions where you can share your ideas, challenge assumptions, and reflect on how these concepts apply to your own life. By the end of our lessons, you’ll not only have a deeper understanding of your chosen social science field, but also the tools to engage with and contribute to positive change in the world.
